IPSC

IPSC is a growing shooting action sport in Alberta, with multiple training opportunities and matches from local to international. CCSC has a very active IPSC league.

3 Gun

3-Gun shooting events are practical shooting events where the stages are shot with a combination of a rifle, a handgun, and a shotgun.

PPC

In PPC, the shooter does not walk or run with the firearm. The focus is on accuracy within a defined time allotment at set distances from 7 to 15 to 25 to 50 metres

  • SAFETY TRAINING
The CCSC offers a number of training courses and clinics throughout the year.  Often these courses are held in conjunction with other shooting sports facilities and organizations.  If you would like to know more about upcoming programs please contact us by email.
  • YOUTH PROGRAMS
The CCSC is committed to ensuring the safe handling and use of firearms including those classified as restricted. We focus primarily on pistol, semiautomatic and shotgun use in shooting action sports.

About The CCSC

The Chinook Country Shooters Club exists to promote the safe and proficient use of firearms.
Although our primary focus is on handguns, we also run events for other restricted firearms and shotguns.

Located in Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada, we provide recreation, competition, and instruction for all levels of shooters in Southern Alberta. Most of our shooting is done at the beautiful and expansive Lethbridge Fish and Game Shooting Range located in Peenaquim Park in north Lethbridge.

Programs & Events

Chinook Country Shooters offers a wide range of learning and practice events as well as organized matches in the shooting action sports throughout the year. The links below will take you to pages that contain more details about each area of programming we offer. Please note that many of our activities are ‘3 season’ due to winter weather, but we do offer some activities year round using indoor facilities.

CCSC Safety Rules

Safety is important in any sport including the shooting sports. The shooting sports are statistically safer than most sports.  This safety really comes down to 4 basic rules that MUST be followed.  There are more safety rules and guidelines for each discipline within the shooting sports but these 4 are universal and should be practiced by anyone handling a firearm.

Always remember the 4 basic firearm safety rules:
  1. Treat ALL firearms as if they are loaded.
  2. DO NOT point at or cover anything with the muzzle until ready to shoot.
  3. Keep trigger finger off the trigger and outside the trigger guard until ready to shoot.
  4. Be certain of your target and your line of fire
